Attraction Marketing Through Personal Branding

Need some help building your network marketing brand?

Here is a list of 5 items to use to help build your personal brand:

1. Create a unique identity. Mine is “The Lead Whisperer”. Other examples might be something like “The Million Dollar Mom” or “The Lazy Millionaire”.

2. Create a personally-branded URL. Example: YourName.com or TheMillionaireMom.com

3. Personally branded headline for your lead capture page. Example: “Discover How An Overworked Mother
of 3 Quit Her Job and became ‘The Millionaire Mom’ Working From Home Using a Little Known Secret”

4. Create a bio page on your site that tells your story and allows prospects to get to know you as well as how you can provide help to them. If you are sending prospects to your site, this page is a good place for them to go after they have opted in for more information. You can introduce your business to them at the end of your story. Try to make it a smooth transition, so you don’t come across like you are just pitching them.

5. Create a personally-branded e-mail address (yourfirstname@yourname.com) and create custom signature building upon your unique identity. Example:

Jane Doe – “The Millionaire Mom”
How I went from working 3 jobs
to becoming CEO of my home:
TheMillionaireMom.com

Once you have established your own unique identity, you can build on it using social media sites such as Twitter, You Tube and Facebook.

How Do They Sponsor So Many People Every Month?

I’m sure you’ve seen the ads out there…”Sponsor 5-30 new reps every month”.  If you’re anything like I used to be, you’ve probably read these ads and rolled your eyes thinking, “Yeah, right. I’ve been working my tail off, and I can’t even find 30 people who will listen to my business presentation in a month, much less who want to join my business.”  I specifically remember surfing the internet a couple of years ago and reading an ad just like this one. 

At that time I knew nothing about attraction marketing, or the importance of stuffing your marketing pipeline full of prospects.  My own experience was limited, so my belief level was limited when I heard about people who were sponsoring these types of numbers into their business every month.  I did have a reference point for being able to enroll 10 reps into my business in a month because I had had that type of experience before, but the problem was that once I had sponsored my family members and friends, my production went way down.  Then the people I sponsored would quit, leaving me with the strategy of trying any way I could to get prospects interested in my business.  I tried just about all of them…I put fliers up all over the city, placed classified ads in newspapers (not a bad idea if you have an effective marketing plan in place), left “sizzle cards” on tables at restaurants and recruited people I met in public. 

I actually ended sponsoring three people I met at Buffalo Wild Wings one Sunday.  While my friends were watching sports and eating wings, I was talking to strangers about my business. The three all joined after much follow up, then promptly quit because they probably weren’t looking for a business in the first place.  They just joined because I had convinced them to join.  One of the biggest keys that I have learned from my study of attraction marketing is that you should never waste your time trying to convince someone to join your business.  If you have to drag them in, they’ll drag you down.  It’s just not worth it when there is a much better way.

So, are people really sponsoring 5-30 reps a month?  I now know that it really is possible.  When my wife and I first started learning about attraction marketing, we were thrilled the first time someone we had never even spoken with joined our business.  I knew that we were on the right track when we sponsored six people into our business in a month and we had not met with them personally to show them our business presentation at Starbucks, we didn’t cold call a hundred leads, and we didn’t drag our family members and friends to hotel meetings.  In fact, all of these people contacted us to tell us they wanted to join our business, or they went ahead and joined without even talking to us.

What we did was create an attraction marketing campaign and filled our marketing pipeline up with interested prospects who eventually became business owners in our business.  You can do the same thing. If you want to learn more about starting your own attraction marketing campaign, click here.

1. Ping It! Once you have posted your information go to www.pingomatic.com and submit the link to your content.

2. Digg It! Subscribe to www.digg.com and submit the link to your new content.

3. Propel It! Next sign up for an account with www.propeller.com.

4. Make it Delicious…Create an account at www.delicious.com.

5. Get Jiglu! Add Jiglu tags to your blog.

6. Tweet  your post on Twitter.

7. Update your Facebook status with a mention your new content.

Using these powerful free resources, I’ve had some of my content show up in the search engines rankings within hours of submitting it.

The Importance of Building Your Own Brand

Three important reasons to build your brand rather than that of your company:

1. If you plan on building a successful long-term business,you need to realize that “You, Inc.” is your business. Your current MLM or direct sales company is not your business, it’s simply a part of your of your business.

2. Focusing on building your own “Brand” as a leader and building up tangible assets and systems that you can plug into the promotion of whatever company you decide to join prevents you from being at the mercy of the decisions made by your company’s owners.

3. By building your brand as a valuable leader, people will be more interested in working with you than constantly jumping into the next big thing that comes along.

Backpage.com – Free Advertising Resource

I’ve known about www.backpage.com for a couple of years.  In fact, when I first found out about it I placed quite a few ads on it and even sponsored someone into my business from one of the ads. That’s pretty cool considering that it’s a free classified ad website.  Once it had been around for a while, it began to be overrun with a huge number of ads and I quite spending any time placing ads on it anymore because I didn’t think it was worth the time.

I have recently added this free resource back into my internet marketing activities. However, now I am not counting on getting great results from people searching the Back Page website, but rather from people who are using the search engines to find out information about specific keywords.  I have found that if I place an ad on the Back Page website using valuable and authoritative content, such as an article relative to specific keywords, the ads are ranking well in the search engines. The best part about this information is how quickly the rankings occur. I recently posted an ad for a competitive keyword that produced 419,000 search results, and within eleven hours my ad was ranked number one.
