Simple “Slow” Method To Go Fast?!?
September 3, 2010
So I’ve been a little busy working these days and things are crankin’ in our business…
Problem is I’ve let myself get completely out of shape lately. Keeping everything in balance is always kind of a juggling act, but I’ve reached my breaking point and decided enough is enough. I have decided to commit to a 90 day plan of action to get my butt back in shape.
Yesterday, I got my Newfoundland, Dakota, and hit the trail to the foothills across the street. Things were going pretty well…until the trail started going UP. Uh…yeah, that lasted about two minutes.
I ran for a total of about 7 minutes before I had to stop, which is pretty pathetic considering I ran a marathon a few years ago. But it is what it is. That’s where I am now.
Now it’s time to focus on constant improvement. I don’t have to go out and run 6 miles tomorrow, I just need to get a little better each week, and before I know it I’ll be back in business. This concept of constant improvement has served me well over the years in many areas of my life, including my business.
I think it is something that people who are new to internet network marketing can definitely benefit from implementing. It seems like a lot of people get started on the internet and see all of the people touting how they get 100 leads a day and sponsor people in their sleep, and they mistakenly think that they are supposed to be in “marathon shape” for their business right away, even though they are just getting started.
So many people seem to set really high expectations of what they should be making in their business their first or second month online even though they haven’t done the things they need to do to be able to perform at that high of a level.
If you’ve fallen prey to this belief that you should be raking in the dough straight out of the gate, don’t get discouraged. Just realize that results like that happen by starting where you are right NOW and then committing to making small improvements each week. Over time your tiny improvements will snowball into an avalanche of success…it just takes a little time to get the ball rollin’.
Sometimes you have to get off to a slow start to eventually go fast. This “slow” approach to go fast can help you whether you are trying to get into shape, build the following for your blog, the size of you e-mail list or you downline.
If you’re ready to start making some improvements in your business, make sure you pick up a copy of my Attraction Marketing Crash Course and leave a comment below if you’ve had success “starting slow…to go fast”.

3 Steps To Succeeding In Internet Network Marketing
August 6, 2010
Today I want to give you a recipe for getting results in your internet network
marketing business ASAP.
This post will save you massive time on your learning curve if you’re just getting
started in your online business. If you have been struggling for a while trying to
figure out to have success, then this info will be like finding a high-powered flashlight on
the ground after wandering around in a dark cave for a week…if you implement it.
Here are the two main reasons I think people miss the boat when it comes to building
a successful business on the Internet:
1. They think that the solution they need is too difficult or expensive to implement right now
because they don’t have access to the right information.
2. They take in powerful new information that would help them succeed, but they don’t
match the influx of information with an equal amount of output (ie. ACTION) and then begin suffering from the dreaded info overload.
So, today I’m going to lay it out as simply as possible so you can take action immediately to start implementing what I’m sharing.
1. When you generate a lead online it should be branded to you. Not your opportunity’s replicated site. Not the author of a popular training course. YOUR solution to a problem that they are likely having.
Why? Because you don’t want to generate a lead and then say, “hey, check out the information from this other network marketer who is much more successful than I am.” You want your prospects to get to know like and trust you, not some guru that will distract their attention away from you and your business.
You are what makes your offer unique. Ideally, you want to start offering your own free “product” as a giveaway as soon as possible.
You shouldn’t try to fake it until you make when you are putting this information together. The point is not to act like you’ve already succeeded on a massive scale if you haven’t, it is just to share concepts that are proven to work.
If you have studied the most successful leaders in the industry and put together a report or video series on what they do to succeed, then that is valuable information that will benefit your prospects. Once you have created a track record of success, you can then put together a product to sell that shares with your prospects how you did it.
If you are ready to create a product to give away or sell, you will need to hire a graphic designer to create a product image for you to market. We offer this service to our Lead System Pro team members for just $47. For more information, check out my Attraction Marketing Crash Course here and send me an e-mail letting me know that you are interested in this special offer. You may also want to check out elance.com.
2. You will want to construct your marketing funnel, so that people are introduced to you and your primary offer through your video series, e-book, or newsletter before you start offering them additional options. Ideally, you want to make sure you are focusing on promoting your brand for the first several messages, then you can introduce them to additional services or affiliate products that you may want to offer. For more information about building a profitable funnel, check out my wife’s recent post about Marketing Funnel Mastery.
At this point in your funnel it can be powerful to use a customizable attraction marketing system that provides incredible training, the opportunity for mulitple streams of income and a way to introduce your primary opportunity to your prospects.
3. Once your prospects have progressed through your funnel and have been introduced to your personally branded system and ultimately your primary business, you can then introduce them to useful affiliate products that you may have to offer. You want to make sure these products are offered on the backend of your funnel, after your propects have been thoroughly exposed to your brand.
There you have it. Once you have put together a funnel like this, it’s time to start driving traffic and then building relationships with your prospects by providing them with valuable solutions to help them succeed. Get started today with my free Attraction Marketing Crash Course.

No Excuses Made At The No Excuses Summit
July 27, 2010
For some, it was a daunting task to be up before 9am and secure a perfect seat in the meeting rooms of the Venetian Hotel. Still, many people who had just flown into Las Vegas made it in time for registration and secured some of the best seats on Friday, July 9, 2010. The event was kicked off by Jimmy Davis as emcee and the weekend contained an inspiring panel of successful entrepreneurs who put on their “teacher hats” for the weekend.
From then on, it was a nonstop buffet of learning and value for small business owners and Internet entrepreneurs. On Saturday, the audience was wowed by presentations by Mike Dillard, Todd Falcone, and Jonathan Budd, who are some of the most successful minds in Internet marketing.
During lunch and breakout sessions, we met amazing new people who all had something to share about their own business-building journeys. Some were eager to start implementing the advice they got from the presenters, but there was still one more day of learning to go to gather even more information from folks like Jim Yaghi, David Schwind, Katie Freiling, Joe O’Day, Adam Holland, and the hosts of the event, Raymond Fong and Fernando Ceballos.
Sunday definitely had people moving their pens like wildfire over their notes (I’m pretty sure I saw smoke coming off of Natasha’s page…which meant I didn’t have to take any notes!), hoping not to miss a single piece of information. I sat back and absorbed everything being offered in various topics ranging from PPC, Search Engine Optimization, Blogging, and Back Linking. And if you think this all sounds nerdy, you’re probably right. Some of these guys were formerly rocket scientists, and that’s not an exaggeration.
Still, they’ve made it clear that we don’t all have to hold the same degrees or be super geniuses of some kind. They’ve offered the keys to success and made them easy to learn and easy to use. No matter what your background, there are No Excuses for failure. They wanted to make sure everyone took that lesson with them, that no matter where they come from or where they are going, no excuses should stand in the way of your success.

Natasha and I had a great time at the Marketing Funnel Mastery event on June 26. The things we’ve learned from Mike Klingler in this course are so powerful, that we have put everything else in our business on hold in order to get our new funnel in place.
If you missed the event in Portland I highly recommend that you check out one of the upcoming events that will be held in different cities around the country.
This weekend we are heading to Vegas for the No Excuses Summit, and then in August I’m heading to another event featuring Mark Hoverson and Ann Sieg in San Francisco. I’ve got some great things to share soon, so stay tuned.

Why I Bought A Rock I Didn’t Want For $.75 This Weekend
June 7, 2010
I was at home this weekend working on the final touches to my upcoming product launch when my doorbell rang. It was a little annoying because I was right in the middle of something, but I hopped up and went to the door. When I opened it I looked down and saw a little boy, who was probably about 6 or 7 years old, looking up at me.
As he held up two worn out looking plastic bags filled with rocks, he asked me if I would like to buy one of his rocks. Then he made me an irresistible offer…I could buy one for either $.25 or $1. Well, despite the fact that I was not in the market for a rock as well as the fact that the “product” in this case was not even particularly special, my wife scrounged up some change and we told him to pick out one he thought was worth $.75.
Now I realize some of you diehard networkers would have tried to recruit this young entrepreneur into your business
but we just happily took our new rock and got back to work. After he left we couldn’t help but wonder how long it will take him to become a millionaire…
When I thought about why I was happy I had purchased something that I wasn’t in the market to buy, wasn’t even that great and was presented to me while I was busy doing something and didn’t want to be interrupted, it made me think about one of the key concepts that I have learned over the past couple of years in network marketing.
It’s really not about your product or business opportunity, or their incredible features and benefits…sure, it helps if they are at least reasonably good. But really, in order to even get to the market these days that is pretty much a given.
People ultimately buy from you or join your opportunity because of the personal relationship you have established with them, the connection you have made with them or the desire they have to do business with you for whatever reason (I bought a rock I didn’t want or need because I wanted to help out an ambitious young entrepreneur).
